FAQS:

What is Resolution Art?

Resolution Art is created by Chelsea Blecha and Dylan Choonhachat as a collective dedicated to helping artists navigate and succeed in the entertainment art industry. We offer classes, mentorships, and resources that focus on artistic development and empowerment.

You can also join our Discord server if you are looking for guidance, support, or feedback on your work from the community.

I live in [ Insert country / continent / state / city / town ], Can I take the classes?

Yes! Our classes are held online through Discord. We welcome any students from anywhere as long as you have internet access. However, because we are based in Los Angeles, California, the class meeting time may be difficult for people from other parts of the world to attend. We are looking into starting more classes to accommodate for other time zones in the future.

Please note that even though we have some experience working with clients overseas, our knowledge is mostly limited to the US industry.

Refunds & Cancellations

For cancellations, send us a request at resolutionartstudio@gmail.com to receive the following refund amount:

  • Full refund if the request is made at least 7 days before the first class meeting.

  • Half refund if the request is made before the second class meeting.

  • There will be no refund granted after the second class meeting.

WHAT PROGRAMS/SUPPLIES ARE REQUIRED FOR THE CLASSES?

Students are welcome to use any medium and software they feel comfortable to complete their assignments. Some classes may require additional supplies to be purchased.

Classes are held on Discord, so students will need to have a Discord account and an access to a microphone/webcam. Homework and discussions will also happen in the Discord server, so we recommend that you download the app on your devices.

Mentorship:

Is the mentorship right for me?

This mentorship is geared towards artists who are transitioning from being a student to becoming a professional. We have experience working in the illustration, animation, games, movies, and advertising industries. If you are interested in character design, background design, prop design, illustration, or storyboarding, we will help you create better work, strengthen your portfolio, and break into the entertainment art industry!

This mentorship is not recommended for beginner level artists. For other foundation courses that we offer, check out our classes. You can also join our Discord server, or check out our recommended resource page :)

The mentorship is also not for artists who are interested in pursuing graphic design, motion design, 3D modeling, visual FX, or other areas that are outside of our expertise.

What is the structure of the MENTORSHIP?

We will start each meeting with a discussion topic. It will be a different topic each week - all related to the industry. Next we will look at the your work from the previous week. This is where we will critique the work, offer our feedback, and talk about your goals. We will then end the class with assignments catered to each student depending on their progress and their area of focus.

How many students are there per mentorship?

There are at most 5 students per mentorship, so the discussions and critiques will be very personable!

Who will be my mentor(s)?

All students will be meeting with all mentors at the same time. Our combined experience ranges from concept art and visual development to illustration and advertising, so we will all contribute to the discussions. One of us may offer more feedback depending on the area of expertise.
